Youth snatches phone after watching YouTube. He found a You Tube video on how to snatch a mobile phone without getting caught

The Greater Chennai police have arrested a 23-year-old man who watched YouTube videos on how to snatch chain and tried it out on a woman near Pallavaram.

After the victim Soundarya lodged a complaint with the Shankar Nagar police that two men who came on a bike snatched her phone when was walking on the Pammal-Nagalkeni Main Road, police surfed CCTV footage from the locality to identify the snatchers.

They soon spotted the vehicle number of the suspects and detained Sagayaraj (47) of Madipakkam.

In his statement to the police, Sagayaraj said that he planned to snatch the mobile along with his relative Daniel (23).

The police arrested both of them and during the inquiry, Daniel told the police that he was a painter and when browsing YouTube found a video on how to snatch a mobile phone without being caught.
